TELL US WITH YOUR ORIGINAL ARTWORK!
If you're a student between the grades of K and 12 with an
interest in our natural environment, we invite you to
participate in our provincial environmental art competition -
Pollinators: Bugs for Biodiversity
Environmental Art Competition - Guidelines
- Contest open to all students from grades
K-12 throughout Newfoundland and Labrador
- Poster content must reflect the theme "Pollinators: Bugs for Biodiversity"
- One entry per student, 8.5" x 11" in size
- No photographs or digital art, but any other medium will be accepted.
- First, second, and third place winners will
be selected in the following categories: Primary (grades K-3); Elementary (grades
4-6); Intermediate (grades 7-9); High (Levels I-III)
INFORMATION REQUIRED ON BACK OF POSTER
Title or description of poster, student's name, grade, teacher's name, school
name, address and phone number.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS
All entries must be received by Friday, April 11, 2008 at the
address below:

JUDGING
Winners will be selected based on creativity, relevance of the
theme, as well as artistic composition, care taken in creating poster and creative use
of materials. Judging will be conducted by Newfoundland and Labrador artist, Christopher Pratt.
Winners will be announced on April 22, 2008.
PRIZES
All participants will receive a small gift of appreciation from Protected Areas Association in
recognition of their efforts. Prizes will be awarded in four categories: Primary (grades K-3), Elementary (grades 4-6),
Intermediate (grades 7-9), High (Levels I-III).
Primary, Elementary and Intermediate
First place winners will receive mounting of own artwork and a
$100 Chapters gift card from Aliant prize pack, and a Protected Areas Association and Canadian Wildlife
Federation gift pack.
Second and Third place winners will each receive a Protected Areas Association and Canadian Wildlife Federation
gift pack.
Highschool
First place winner will receive mounting of own artwork plus a $200 cash prize and a Protected
Areas Association and Canadian Wildlife Federation gift pack.
Second and Third place winners will each receive a $50 cash prize and a Protected Areas Association and Canadian
Wildlife Federation gift pack.
COPYRIGHT
Protected Areas Association (PAA) reserves the right to publish, present or display any
entry received. PAA is not responsible for any lost, damaged
or stolen posters. PAA will publish winning posters on PAA's website,
in PAA's newsletter and potentially in a future calendar.
